After a couple of days of confusion -- first time we put him on the little staircase he froze in terror, his little toes all splayed outward, and just stood there or clambered back onto the bed. But after a couple of days and a couple of "teaching tries" he got the idea and now he uses his stairs to get down from "way up there"!
