Little Shop News - December 2005
Welcome to the December 2005 edition of LITTLE SHOP NEWS Happy Holidays to one and all! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are ready for the busy holiday and shopping season ahead. Well, of course, it’s the time of the year when we think about kids and presents and for me anyway…my dogs ARE my kids, and maybe yours are as well… or at least your FAVORITE kids… ? You probably have toy boxes for your kids, right? Your dogs need a place to put their toys as well. How about a bone-shaped pet toy box of their very own? They can store their favorite toys, or you can use it to store food, grooming supplies and more. Please check out these great looking toy boxes made of the finest pine and handcrafted with care. http://www.littleshopofterrors.citymax.com/page/page/492235.htm ** REMEMBER – Shipping is always FREE at Little Shop of Terrors It is also the time of year when we think about giving and receiving. I’m not just talking about presents…I’m talking about giving love and caring for one another…and our animal friends. At Petinder.org you can search for adoptable pets, locate shelter and rescue groups, post classified ads for lost or found pets, pets wanted or pets in need of a home. You can also sign up to be a volunteer for your local shelter or rescue group. Please look around the site and see if there’s anything you can do to help in your area - http://www.petfinder.org/ Another site you might want to check out is Homeless Pets.com As people board their pets for the holidays, space offered to shelter groups is at a minimum. More than at any other time, ALL shelter groups need help fostering for the holidays. Please offer a home for the holidays. http://www.homelesspets.com/ The AnimalShelter.org web site was created in an effort to place homeless animals. These animals are often located in thousands of animal shelters throughout the U.S. as a temporary placement while a loving family is found. At AnimalShelter.org they provide a database of animals that will allow you to search for your next pet based on animal type, breed, size, gender and location. You can also search through a list of shelters and rescues by state or zip code to determine which facilities are closest to your location. http://www.animalshelter.org/ One more site I like is the Best Friends Animal Society. The mission of Best Friends is driven by the simple philosophy that kindness to animals helps build a better world for all of us. And the work of Best Friends is supported entirely through the donations of members and supporters. Through the generous hearts and hands of people like you, we can ensure that animals who come into the care of Best Friends will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain. http://www.bestfriends.org/ I hope you will enjoy looking at those sites, and maybe find a way to help out this holiday season. Don’t forget, we now offer a full line of traditional greeting cards for dog people. These are fun, quirky cards for people who love dogs. We also carry the HOT new item, Crunchkins (Crunch Card) Edible greeting cards for the dogs you love. Crunchkins greeting cards are made of all natural rawhide and bright, colorful, non-toxic ink. Your friends will love the sentiment, and their pets will enjoy the treat! Each card comes with an envelope for mailing. Extra postage may be required. With all of our greeting cards you have a choice – we can send them to you so you can add your personal note before mailing, or let us add a personal note and mail them for you! Order your holiday cards now so you’ll be ready when it’s time to mail them. The holidays are HERE!!!!!! http://www.littleshopofterrors.citymax.com/page/page/2430456.htm Here’s another thing that’s pretty special - you can now sign up on our website to receive free reminder emails from our Birthday Club. Our service can send you reminders for your two and four-legged friend's birthdays and other big events. When you have an event requiring a greeting card, stop back by our store to make card shopping easy! This service is only 75 cents for paper cards, and $1 for Crunch Cards. http://www.littleshopofterrors.citymax.com/page/page/2430456.htm Here’s something fun for this month: SIGNS YOU ARE TOO COZY WITH YOUR COMPUTER: You don’t correspond with your mother because she doesn’t have Instant Messenger Your spouse says communication is important in a marriage… so you buy another computer and install a second phone line so the two of you can chat online You wake up at 4 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop to check E-mail on the way back to bed You don’t know the gender of your three closest friends because they have nondescript screen names and you never bothered to ask Your family always knows where you are You try to press Alt-F4 to close your car window Someone tells you about a great new program and you’re disappointed when you learn it’s on TV PET SPOTLIGHT - If you subscribe to the Little Shop News and you shop at the Little Shop of Terrors, then you MUST have a little terror of your own, right? And if you are like every other Terror Wrangler we know, then you must have a story or two that others might find humorous, or at the very least a story that will make others realize maybe THEIR terror isn’t as bad as YOUR terror and they’ll feel sorry for you. Heck, maybe it wasn’t even a BAD thing your terror did; maybe it was a cute thing. We don’t know, but we’d sure like to hear about it. Here’s a chance for your little terror to be famous. Please send us a story or two, tell us what makes your dog a “terror” and we’ll print a new story each month in the newsletter.
