September 2006 edition of LITTLE SHOP NEWS
Welcome to the September 2006 edition of LITTLE SHOP NEWS A DOG’S PURPOSE A Veterinarian had been called to examine a ten-year old Irish wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron and Lisa, and their young son Shane, were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle. The Dr. examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer, so he told the family he couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. Ron and Lisa told the vet they thought it would be good for the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience. The next day, the Dr. felt the familiar catch in his throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time and the Vet wondered if Shane understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. Everyone sat together for a while after Belker's death, and the Dr. wondered aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why." Startled, everyone turned to him. What came out of his mouth next was stunning. The Dr. had never heard a more comforting explanation. Shane said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life, learn how to love everybody all the time and be nice, right?" The four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long." Be like your dog - Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. NEW STUFF!!! Custom Picture Purse Who doesn’t love to carry around pictures of their little terrors to show off? And what’s even better is when you can get their picture on something you carry around. I have a picture of my Yorkies on my credit card and it’s a lot of fun when a cashier says, “Aren’t they cute?” and I can say, “Yes, they are...and they are mine.” Everyone is used to seeing pictures of cute dogs and cats on shirts, credit cards, checkbook covers and more, but they think the little cutie is just some Cindy Crawford of the animal world – a high paid model. That’s about to change, because now you can order your very own customized purse/handbag featuring a picture of your favorite little terror. The custom handbag is a 13 x 9 inch white bag with a zipper enclosure and will be made with beads or boa added in a color and style selected to best match your photo. Just send us your high-resolution image via Email and we will print the picture on both sides of the purse. For an additional $10, you can even send in a second photo, so you can have a different picture on each side. With a turnaround time of about 2 weeks, you’ll be enjoying your custom handbag in no time at all.
