October 2006 Edition ~ Little Shop News

Welcome to the October 2006 edition of LITTLE SHOP NEWS

Welcome to what some people think is the most beautiful
time of year – Fall. The trees will soon be very pretty,
it’s cool enough to open the windows for a nice breeze, but
not so cold that it freezes you to death. Thanksgiving is
around the corner, and before you know it the Holiday
season will be in full swing. Personally, I prefer the
Summer, so I’m getting a little depressed, but hey, don’t
let me ruin it for the rest of you. ?

Here’s a Slideshow of Pets enjoying the Fall weather -
http://www.weather.com/activities/homeandgarden/pets/fallpets.html

Speaking of Fall, you know, this is also the time of year
when many “do it yourself” types will change their
Anti-Freeze. Anti-Freeze is fatally toxic to our pets, so
keep an eye out to make sure they don’t get in to something
they shouldn’t. Which brings me to this month’s theme – Pet
Health. Wow, bet you didn’t see that coming, did you?

FIVE PILLARS OF ANIMAL HEALTH
Thanks to my Vet, Dr. Fry, for these helpful tips. All
animals have five basic needs to ensure maximum overall
health:

Annual Wellness Exams - Every pet needs a complete physical
examination at least once yearly to detect abnormalities as
early as possible.

Proper Nutrition - Nutrition plays a major role in the
health of your pet throughout their lifetime.

Dental Health – Dental disease is a common problem and a
major cause of other illnesses. Gingivitis, heart disease,
urinary tract infection, liver disease and upper
respiratory infections are just a few of the problems that
can result from dental disease.

Heartworm Prevention – Heartworm Prevention should be
maintained year-round. Periodic blood testing for heartworm
infection should be performed to ensure the medication has
been properly ingested and absorbed by your pet.

Flea and Tick Control - Fleas and ticks are not only a
cause of pain and discomfort to your pet, but can also
transmit deadly diseases.

NUTRITION
Here at Little Shop, we can’t offer wellness exams but we
can certainly help you in the NUTRITION department. We
offer both Honest Kitchen and Flint River. Honest Kitchen
Dehydrated human grade foods are home made made easy! These
tasty foods combine the wholesomeness of a home made diet
with the convenience of an easy to prepare scientifically
balanced blend. Perfect to feed alone, or ideal as the base
for a Raw or other home made diet.

the manufacturer to your front door via UPS. Flint kibble
is made fresh 3 times a week, so you don’t worry about how
long it’s been sitting around on the shelf. Flint River
uses only the best ingredients and is oven-baked, so the
food is easier to digest. No Artificial colors or flavors,
no by-products, no chemical preservatives and no BHA or
BHT. All natural ingredients PLUS essential vitamins and
minerals. Try some Flint River today -

GROOMING
Okay, so it’s not EXACTLY health, but it’s certainly just
as important. No one wants kisses and hugs from a smelly,
unkempt puppy! Proper grooming with grooming products from
Little Shop, along with proper nutrition and periodic
health checkups will keep your pet happy and healthy for
many years. We offer clippers, combs, and nail trimmers in
various styles -

WE WANT YOUR STORY
If you subscribe to the Little Shop News and you shop at
the Little Shop of Terrors, then you MUST have a little
terror of your own, right? And if you are like every other
Terror Wrangler we know, then you must have a story or two
that others might find humorous, or at the very least a
story that will make others realize maybe THEIR terror
isn’t as bad as YOUR terror and they’ll feel sorry for you.
Heck, maybe it wasn’t even a BAD thing your terror did;
maybe it was a cute thing. We don’t know, but we’d sure
like to hear about it.

Here’s a chance for your little terror to be famous. Please
send us a story or two, tell us what makes your dog a
“terror” and we’ll print a new story each month in the
newsletter. Email - info@littleshopofterrors.citymax.com
