A furniture step is recommended for any dog (not just a toy dog) with orthopedic problems or aging arthritic dogs with poor joint health or back problems. A furniture ramp or step allows your yorkshire terrier or all breed dogs to get on his or her favorite piece of furniture without stressing their hips, shoulders, or knees. Great for dogs recovering from surgery of Luxating Patelas or Hip Dysplasia. The best time to protect your pets joint health is when he is young. For better health of our pets it is very important not to allow them to jump from furniture. An early age is also the best time to introduce using the pet step or ramp to your dog or cat.

Introducing our pet steps or pet ramps can take some time, especially for older dogs and cats. Don't force your dog or cat up the steps when they are first put in place. We feel that to much enticing the pet to use the steps or ramps can actually cause the pet worry. We recommend simply placing the steps in position with a few treats sprinkled from bottom to top and allowing them to set for a few days. Let your pets smell them and become accustomed to them simply being in the room.
