Our pet gates are perfect sizing for toy breed dogs!  The wooden spindles have spacing of 1 3/4 inch.  And the wire/wood combo have a 1 1/4 inch configuration. These gates featurethat width space so smaller dogs will not get their heads caught between the spindles.  This is the only brand gate  that has this small of width space!
